Congratulations, Melissa!!

Congratulations to Melissa (again!!) For the second year in a row, two of Melissa's portraits have been awarded high honors at the International Print Competition through the Professional Photographers of America (PPA).

PPA's International Photographic Competition (IPC) is the gold standard for photography competitions and features the best of the best photographs from around the world in an exhibition every year. Having an image "go Loan"--chosen for inclusion in the world's most prestigious photo exhibit--is an achievement professional photographers cherish. Loan Collection images are on display throughout the year at PPA headquarters in Atlanta, and at various events worldwide, and will also be published in the much-anticipated “Loan Collection".

Melissa merited with two of her images (General Collection and Loan Collection -the Loan Collection is the highest possible honor to receive!) The darling cat portrait entitled "C-A-T"  went into the Loan Collection. (in case you are keeping track, that’s 2 years running for a loan collection print. Wahoo!) The dog portrait, "The Next Best Thing" (clever, isn't that?) went into the General Collection.  This is another huge accomplishment for Melissa and for Miroslavich Photography and a wonderful acknowledgement of her talent as a photographer.  CONGRATS, Melissa!!!
 

Melissa's images will be on display in the gallery at PPA’s annual convention, Imaging USA, in January 2013 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Silly sisters!!

Don't you wish we could all be as carefree as these two sweet sisters, Charlotte and Caroline and their dog, Lulu?  (Lulu is THE Lulu from the petstore and grooming paw-lour Lulu & Luigi in the Twin Cities!) Their pretty sundresses, flowers in their hair, the light summer breeze-it all seems so light hearted and fun.  The girls loved exploring their surroundings-whether it was playing in the stream or picking flowers for their mommy-we were able to capture that innocence and sisterly love.  As the days get shorter and the weather turns colder, we need to keep days like these in mind!! 

Backyard fun!

Sometimes the best sessions take place in your own backyard!  This was certainly was the case with these cute brothers!!  Their gorgeous backyard made it the perfect setting for their session this summer-if only all of our yards looked this good!  Not to mention the boys were at ease and comfortable running around their yard and letting Melissa capture these great moments while they played with their dog, Baxter.  Of course, Baxter thought it was his own photo session and posed perfectly for the camera! 

Rachel and Camille- Class of 2013

No, you are not seeing double!!  Rachel and Camille are twins who are seniors in high school this year and came to us this past summer for their senior portraits!!  We absolutely adored them and their sweet personalities!!  In some ways, they were so different but shared the same cute giggle and lovely spirit.  We had as much fun as they did in the studio and exploring Saint Paul that morning.  They were naturals!  Best of luck and have an awesome senior year, girls!! 

The faces of Wild Child Hair!!

Since Wild Child Hair opened in Woodbury in 2009, we have been thrilled to decorate their walls with Miroslavich Photography portraits as part of our displays.  Each year we switch out images and we always love hearing the reactions and excitement the staff (and their clients!) have when new portraits go up!  Many of clients go to Wild Child for their kids' haircuts and we have met many new clients as a result of their referrals!! So, it was only fitting that Melissa Fink, Wild Child's owner, had her two sweet girls come to the studio this summer for a session! Bridget and Chelsea had a blast - Chelsea loved playing up the camera while Bridget was initially a little more reserved until she realized what fun her sister as having!!  Three new portraits of the girls are now proudly displayed in Wild Child.  Make sure to check out Wild Child for your next haircuts!! http://wildchildhair.com/

Flashback to summer!

The summer of 2012 may be just a memory but we have many beautiful sessions from the past summer that we still need to share with you on the blog.  This lovely family came to us as a result of being the winning bidders on the Neuvas Fronteras School's silent auction from their Spring Fiesta-we have met such great families through their Fiesta and this family was no exception.  Brady and Callie have both attended Neuvas Fronteras so it is great they continue to support the school.  We loved getting to know these siblings' personalities and see their relationship with each other! (and how cool are Callie's glasses!! I want them!) 

A Grand Success!!

Last night we celebrated the Grand Opening of Miroslavich Photography studio in Woodbury!  We celebrated the end of months of planning, designing, decorating, packing, moving, unpacking, and arranging--and the beginning of a new chapter of Miroslavich Photography!  It is so exciting to be in the new studio and having so much more space.  We opened our doors to our clients, friends, families, neighbors and met many new people last night.  Approximately 100 people came out on a cold, blustery night to help us celebrate!  The evening was kicked off with an official ribbon cutting ceremony with representatives from the St Paul Chamber of Commerce and the Woodbury Chamber of Commerce in addition to Woodbury Mayor Mary Stephens (with her adorable grandchildren as well!). Afterward we moved inside for yummy desserts (thanks, Dorothy Ann Bakery!!), wine, prizes, stunning floral arrangements (thanks, Sprigs!!) a super fun Photobooth (thanks, Tony from Show Time Entertainment!).  The Photobooth was a huge hit with most guests venturing in for some quick pics to add to our guest book!  It made for lots of laughs and giggles! We also unveiled our new video which we will post here next week to share with everyone.  Thank you to everyone who came out last night and to everyone who continues to support us.  It is what makes nights like last night such a success!! 

Grand Opening Party this week!!

It's almost here!!  Our Grand Opening Party at the new studio is this Thursday October 4th from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Our new address is 700 Commerce Drive Suite 100 in Woodbury.  We are in the same building as Dorothy Ann Bakery (yum!!) and Pomegranate Designs  (who are hosting their Halloween Fashion Show also that evening so stop by and check that out, too!).  It promises to be a great evening at the studio with wine and desserts.....

a photobooth with a whole trunk full of silly accessories, new product unveiling, and prizes galore!!  At 6:30pm the St Paul Chamber of Commerce will be kicking off the evening with a brief ceremony and ribbon cutting so don't miss that! We are so excited to show off our new digs to everyone so please mark it in your calendar and stop by to say hi and help us celebrate this momentous occasion!!
