Beautiful Bambi!

Look at these eyes!! How could you not fall in love at first sight? This is Bambi...a teeny, tiny chihuahua who came to the studio a couple of weeks ago. If you have ever been into Posh Pooch (www.poshpoochpetboutique.com) in Woodbury, you may have been lucky enough to meet Bambi. Bambi is the grand-dog of owner, Julie (her daughter, Vanessa, is Bambi's owner/parent). If you look closely enough, you may be able to see Bambi's stunning manicure and her freshly painted nails. Very fancy! (if only my nails looked as good!!)

Save the date for our Stories Event!!!

Over the past couple of months, we have been busy planning a very fun event for everyone at the studio....the Stories event! On Saturday April 18th from 10am-noon, Miroslavich Photography is hosting a special event to promote the joy of reading (on a rainy day...well, whether it is rainy or not, we are still hosting the event!). We are fortunate enough to have storytellers from WonderWeavers coming to tell and act out stories, face painting, crafts and lots of fun! In addition to this, we are collecting new and gently used children's books to donate to the Minnesota Literacy Council....our goal: 200 books!! We have already started collecting them at the studio and have started a big tower of books in our lobby!! You have to check it out!!

And if that wasn't all enough, we will also be having a Matilda Jane Clothing Trunk show www.customer.matildajanetrunkshow.com Check them out online!!! stunning childrens' clothing. We will have Snickerdoodle Stationery there (www.doodleinvite.com) with adorable kids' party invites, children's stationery and teacher gifts.

We will be posting more about the Stories event over the next couple of weeks so stay tuned....and RSVP to 651.343.4823 if you are planning to come!!

Happy 1st Birthday, Jack!!!

Jack is one of our many Baby Collection babies who has just "graduated" into toddlerhood! We seem have had a whole bunch of first birthdays at the studio lately (which usually means leftover cake for Melissa and I!!) There is nothing better than seeing these babes discover sugar and icing for the first time! Every child is different in their response which makes it even better!! It has been a lot of fun watching Jack grow over the past year....and we can't wait to see him again!

If you look closely, you will see a trail of Cheerios behind Jack....Cheerios are an amazing bargaining tool!!!

Nothing says little boy more than a pair of jean overalls!! Love it!!

Spring is in the air!

The sunglasses, daisy flowers on her dress, warm smiles...doesn't Marit make you think of Spring? Since today is the first official day of Spring, I thought these images from Marit's recent session were more than fitting...especially since we woke up to a thin layer of snow here in Minnesota this morning!!!
Marit just turned 4 recently and came in for her own photo session. She was absolutely adorable...and we can't wait to meet her younger sister, Ingrid, in May when she comes in for her session. Happy Spring!!!

Happy St Patrick's Day

One of the great benefits of having a photography studio in St Paul’s warehouse district is that we are only two blocks from the start of the big St Paul St. Patrick’s Day Parade. My 5 1/2 year old and I had a ton 'O fun people watching … and next year I made a deal with myself that I would bring more than a little point-and-shoot camera. Here’s to the luck of the Irish. My girls are looking forward to green waffles and green milk tonight for dinner. (I am only Irish for a day, but it is sooo much fun!). Enjoy some of my daughter’s top parade picks!

Giddy-up!!!

Check out the attitude in this first image!! How great is that? This is 6 year old Julia who has a thing for horses! We loved incorporating the cowgirl theme into this session (I think Melissa is still looking for boots in adult sizes for herself!) and Julia sported this look fabulously! It was really a treat to have a session like this in the middle of winter...a promise of all good things that are coming with spring!

(I wonder what Julia is whispering to her mom????)

Santa Fe is FAB!

Santa Fe was amazing!I had the incredible opportunity to spend a week with a phenomenal photographer, Greg Heisler, at his Choice and Vision workshop. His images have graced the cover of Time more than 75 times! His experience and level of expertise photographing everyone from Bono to Arafat was enlightening to say the least. The workshop was a wonderful experience and I really enjoyed meeting the other 12 photographers whose experiences ranged from the Federal Reserve to the New Your Times … from Vermont to Seattle … and everything in between (literally). I can’t wait to bring new ideas to the studio. Here’s a sample of Santa Fe! What a beautiful part of New Mexico. I am happy to be back, but not too happy about the weather. Geez! When will it end!

Announcing ZOOM! Our photography camp for kids!

We are thrilled to announce ZOOM...a photograhy camp this summer exclusively from Miroslavich Photography for kids ages 9-12 years old. We have had several parents approach us in the past looking for photography camp for their kids. As a result, we have created this camp for kids interested in the art of photography! And we couldn't be more excited! What could be better than watching your child learn a new skill or develop an interest they are keen on?

The camp will be the week of June 15th (15th-18th) from 12:30pm-3:30pm at the studio. We will spend some time in the studio and we will also take advantage of the cool architecture of downtown Saint Paul while walking around outside, too. Following the week of the camp, on June 25th, camp artist will be inviting their family and friends to an art show at the studio as they display some of the art they created during camp.

For more information, or to register for the camp, please call us at 651.343.4823.

Another business to watch!!!

We first met Susan when she and her daughter, Kate (a budding 10 year old photographer!) brought their family dog, Daisy, into the studio to be photographed last year. We instantly loved meeting them and have so enjoyed getting to know them better over the past year. Following Daisy's photo session, Susan asked us to photograph some executive headshots of her for her new book and website. You have to check out the website: www.leadhership1.com .

To quote her website, "Susan Davis-Ali, PhD, is a successful business executive, wife and mother. She is the founder and President of Leadhership 1, a professional coaching company commited to helping working women achieve success and sanity in their lives". Susan's new book is now available, titled "How to Become Successful Without Becoming a Man". How great is that title?!?

We cannot wait til Oprah discovers Susan and has her on the show!! It's only a matter of time.....
